"Other gigs might be cleaner from a technical standpoint, but for my money, this is the most energetic and creative of the 2014 shows overall. Both band and crowd are loose, rowdy, and seem to be having a blast, which leads to innovative fireworks (or fireworks, at least) on nearly every tune, especially the jaw-dropping intro of “Level Five”, and a searing “VROOM>Coda: Marine 475” that finds Robert Fripp wailing away on his guitar with an urgency and abandon he wouldn’t find at any other point in any other show from this run. Mel Collins’ flute and sax work, superlative the whole tour, is particularly adventurous during his solo spots, leading one (probably very stoned) crowd member to enthuse “Ron Burgundyyyyyy!” following his fantastic flute solo for “Larks 1”. Even the occasional technical gaffes work to the show’s advantage: A malfunction from Tony Levin’s bass leads to an extended drum intro for “Sailor’s Tale”, with Tony switching to upright, which gives the song a unique, jazzy vibe that suits it perfectly. I’d say if you must have a single recording from the 2014 tour, make it this one. A wonderful performance."

"This was my first King Crimson concert. It did not disappoint. "
