Show Notes

The second night in DC took place in front a much reduced crowd with somewhere in the region of 500 - 600 punters wandering in to listen. Then again not everyone was there to listen as Robert noted in his diary at the time. “Directly in front of me: 2 men talking (shouting) at the top of their voices in conversation. This is the archetypical Crimson fan scenario: having such a great time talking (shouting) about past Crimson glories that they are unavailable to the present, & miss Crimson unfolding right in front of them. During "Thrush" (second encore) finally I stopped and said: "I feel I'm interrupting your conversation". The man shouting looked embarrassed & fell quiet. His friend shouted: "Interrupt us!"” Andrew Baxley, who was listening, shared the view on ET that “The second night in DC was a much better show...Belew still had some guitar problems (most notably on Dinosaur and Oyster Soup...but they were less bothersome than the ones he had the night before.” Brad David summed up the duality of the double duo for ET readers in this succinct manner: “One guitarist is a drummer. One guitarist can play complete string pieces. The bassist can sound like he's playing two guitar at once or drums. The drummer is a mad man. The singer sounds like two voices at once.”
