"New Years Eve show will be released next week Jan-11-2010! We’ve All Learned to Expect the Unexpected…Haven’t We? I had a blast on New Year’s Eve ringing in 2010 with Widespread Panic at Phillips Arena in Atlanta. With a New Year’s show for the ages and a ton of friends and family to share it with, I don’t think I could’ve had a better time. Now I just can’t wait to listen to the recording. During the course of the two day run, it seemed like every conversation I had ended up centering on when the next Multi Track Archive release will be coming out. Although appropriately evasive with my responses, this topic certainly put me in an archive frame of mind. So, here I was, up early on 1/1/10…and on the heels of an incredible show with a legitimate archive question running through my mind. Combining these two thoughts together, “Instant Classic” Multi Track came to mind…and before I had a chance to reject that idea, I had already crossed my fingers and thrown it to Chris Rabold. And, wouldn’t you know it...instant resonation. Chris’ only concern was the overall production time a traditional Multi Track release would require would not be available due to scheduling constraints, etc. After going back and forth a bit about what level of quality he could achieve in a shorter period of time, we felt comfortable we could land in a much better spot than the familiar current 2 track option and therefore, release an enhanced recording. After assuring each other that roughly a week’s delay would be ok if the reason was honorable, we decided to make it happen. So, Happy New Year all over again. The Widespread Panic 12/31/09 New Year’s Eve show will be available in Mutli Track format next Monday, January 11, 2010. Pre-order your copy now! Cheers, Horace Moore "

"I had the time of my life both nights guys. This coming from a 35 year old who has seen the band numerous times. We had the luxury suite D 14 rockin' and when Mike Mills came out it exploded! Great job guys, you still amaze me."

"If you guys are waiting for the NYE sbd, check the WSP news page. It won't be out until next Monday as it is going to be a multi track release."

"I have to say, this two night run was the best i've seen in a while. What I don't understand is all the negativity? The godfathers of our lifestyle would be disappointed with all that nonsense. Are the hipsters out their not appreciative of the setlist? Like the old saying goes "a bad dead show is a good dead show." To all my fellow headdies, the best is yet to come! "

"I agree about the same night downloads; a lot of bands can do it, but for some reason my favorite band can't. Maybe next day downloads, but it's nearly a week later and no NYE show. Not a big deal, just something to complain about, really. I saw them about 10 times this year, and these were the best shows. Hard to argue against Charleston, IMO, but NYE show made the weekend better. 2nd Vacation of the year? AWESOME hearing that live, every time. Already Fried...man I could go on and on about the song choices. They were instrumentally and perfectly placed throughout the weekend. Closing with a metallic Protein Drink/Sewing Machine was just the way to do it...grinding hard. See ya down the road...."

" I'm looking forward to the release of the NYE show. It was a great time. The best show I can remember. It'll be worth the wait. I cant wait to see how many CD packages are ordered. Thanks for all the hard work! It's appreciated!"

"I agree with the person who said don't judge a band for there song choices. I thought both nights were off the charts amazing. I got to see 14 shows this year and I am never dissapointed with what the boys bring. I have seen panic over 250 times and Phish just as many(every show from 96-2000) and I think panic has more balls than phish ever will. My wife is also a huge R.E.M fan so she thought it was awesome that Mike joined the band in their home state. traveled to Atlanta from Oregon and it was worth every dime. Thanks to the band for starting off the year right!!!"

"This and NYE were my first two WSP shows. Can't say I'm a huge fan, normally I'd do STS9 but since they moved NYE to CO this year I decided to hit up Panic instead. Anyway overall I thought the first night was just ok (on the other hand I'm anxiously waiting for the NYE sbd to get posted). Highlight of the first set is Rebirtha, for the second set it's Fishwater and the following two tunes. I wasn't that impressed with the Mike Mills sit in to be honest."

"where's 12/31 i want to hear it soooooo bad, What happened to the same night uploads, i loved that, i bought them every morning. Phish gets my props cause they have the shows up within 2 1/2 hours after the show. and they're the same quality as the WSP shows that upload multiple days after the show. "

"The 30th show was sick, Mike Mills, who was in REM came out and played to great songs, that don't sound alike, don't complain when Panic brings out a legend"
dts — 1/1/2010 10:00:00 AM
"Hey wsmfp, it really is a drag when kids such as yourself think they're qualified to jump on this site and critique Widespread Panic (or any band) and the songs they choose to cover. I'm guessing since you didn't name the songs (that sound just alike) you also don't know who they were written by either. You know I really am sorry that you can't hear "Wish You Were Here" at every show you go to, but some of us actually enjoy it when a band pays it respects to another band, whether it be because they both came out of the same city, or because one is a song-writing legend who influenced everybody that you run around listening to today. Next time try to keep an open mind instead of criticizing. Oh, and those two songs sound nothing alike, open your ears as well. "

"Sick show. The second set was killer except for the guest appearance of Mike Mills who played two songs that sounded exactly the same. Not sure who's idea it was to bring him on stage but the imitation leather shoes after could't have been more revitalizing. The blackout, and drum jam was great. 9.5 out of 10. "
