Acoustic Disc is proud to present, for the first time ever to an American audience, the music of Jacob do Bandolim, the late, great mandolin master of Brazil. When you hear this music, you will experience traditional Brazilian music called Choro, which means "to cry" in Portuguese. Indeed, Choro is some of the most passionate and vibrant music you will ever hear. Jacob do Bandolim was not only one of Choro music's most gifted composers, but also the greatest mandolinist Brazil has ever known. Until this collection, Jacob's music was only available on foreign releases. Even so, he has quite an underground following of musicians and aficionados of quality acoustic and Brazilian music who hold Jacob do Bandolim in the highest esteem.
