GENERAL QUESTIONS

What is the"NUGS.NETWORK"?
The NUGS.NETWORK powers the download services for several premium music download channels, including LIVEPHISH.COM, LIVEMETALLICA.COM, LIVEWIDESPREADPANIC.COM, and LIVEDOWNLOADS.COM. Hundreds of artists distribute their music through the NUGS.NETWORK. This web site, nugs.net, is the directory of all the music delivered through the NUGS.NETWORK. This site is maintained by nugs.net enterprises, LLC, a privately held company focused on media distribution for the music industry.

Where did all the free downloads go?
The "classic" nugs.net stash of free mp3 downloads is available at http://stash.nugs.net or via the "FREE STASH" link at the top of each page. Hundreds of shows are available as streaming and downloadable mp3s for free. In order to keep the free nugs.net stash available, we moved them to a site separate from the commercial nugs.network directory.

Why isn't everything in the free stash available for download?
Each month nugs.net features new shows and selections from the nugs.net stash for free download. The rest of the nugs.net stash is available as streaming mp3s. The Download Page always lists the current downloadable shows. Archived shows become available for download each month, so keep checking back. You can sign up here for email updates when new shows become available.

Who runs nugs.net, anyway?
Brad Serling founded the free nugs.net stash in 1993 as a labor of love. In 2002, Phish partnered with Brad to launch Live Phish Downloads, and Brad and business partner Jon Richter incorporated nugs.net enterprises, LLC. Since then, nugs.net has worked with artists ranging from Phish to Metallica to Dave Matthews to festivals like Bonnaroo to distribute their music. For more information on nugs.net enterprises and how nugs.net can help artists and labels, please look here.

Why won't nugs.net radio work for me?
You will need a broadband connection (Cable Modem, DSL, T1, office LAN, etc.) capable of at least 130Kbps sustained throughput to listen to nugs.net radio. You can listen with any mp3 player that supports Shoutcast streaming mp3. The best player for the PC is Winamp. For the Mac, you should use iTunes. If you have Real Player or Music Match Jukebox installed on your PC, please download WinAmp and make sure during installation to check "Associate with files" and "Preserve file associations" for the radio to work properly. Your mp3 player should indicate the current song/artist playing once you tune in. If you have problems with Windows Media Player or Real Player, then please re-install Winamp and associate Winamp with .m3u files.

How do I tell what song is currently playing on nugs.net radio?
If you have Flash installed in your web browser, you can always see the NOW PLAYING information for nugs.net radio in the top right corner of each page on nugs.net. If you click on the song title that’s currently playing, a new browser window will open with more information on how to download that show or album. If you listen with Winamp or iTunes, you will also see the NOW PLAYING information within the player.

What is "nugster"?
The nugs.net download manager for Windows is called “nugster”. It is an ActiveX control that will install automatically when you click the DOWNLOAD ENTIRE SHOW button on any of the nugs.network websites. Please note that this is not an application that you can install on your own, but rather a plugin to Internet Explorer. Nugster will only work on Windows and the Internet Explorer browsers. If you are a Firefox user, you will not be able to use nugster. If you have trouble installing nugster, please make sure you are enabling ActiveX controls in Internet Explorer.
